RESEARCH
Hermina Nedelescu, Ph.D.

My research examines how experiences are encoded in neural circuits to drive maladaptive behaviors relevant to psychopathology. With a strong neuroscience background bridging circuits and behavior, I focus on the development of substance use disorders while also leading projects on fear learning, stress-induced PTSD, anxiety, and approach–avoidance behavior. I am also interested in [sexual] trauma-induced PTSD and SUD comorbidity with a commitment to translating this work for broader societal impact.
